 디자이너 '제스퍼 모리슨' (designer jasper morrison)

Jasper morrison은 1959년 런던에서 태어난다.

Kingston Polytechnic Design School(1979-1982)

Royal College of Art (1982-1985)

1984년 Berlins HdK 에서 학위를 받는다.

1986년 그는 Office for Design를 런던에 개업한다.

그의 작업중에 Kassel에서 열리는 Documenta 8 exhibition도 있었고,

Reuters News Centre를 디자인하는 것도 있었다.

그리고 그는 “Design Werkstadt”에 참가하기위해 방문한다.

DAAD Gallery에서 “Berlin, Cultural City of Europe” program의 한 부분인

“Some new items for the house, part I”에 그의 작품을 전시하게 된다.

그리고 나서 런던에 있는 SCP, 독일의 도어 핸들 제품을 만드는 FSB, 사무가구 회사인 Vitra

그리고 이탈리아 가구 회사인 Cappellini를 위해 디자인을 시작하게 된다.

1992년 James Irvine와 함께 그는 Cappellini를 위해 'Progetto Oggetto'를 만들게 된다.

주방이나 가정에서 쓰는 가구나 용품을 젊은 유럽 디자이너들과 함께 디자인을 하게 된다.

또  Andreas Brandolini, Axel Kufus 다양한 설치작업, 전시 디자인과

도시계획프로젝트을 Utilism International 단체 아래에서 한다.

1992년 그의 slide show 강의  "A world without words"는

그래픽 디자이너인 Tony Arefin에 의해서 제작되어 책으로 발간된다.

1994년  Jasper Morrison 은  Guest of honour가 되며 벨기에에서 열리는 Interieur 94에서 전시를 개최한다.

1995년 그는 와인으로 유명한 도시인 Bordeauxs에 있는 Arc en Rêve Centre darchitecture에서 개인전를 한다.

그리고 Hannover 교통부의 허가를 받아 도시의 bus stop을  Üstra함께 디자인한다.

1995년  Jasper Morrisons office는 새로운 Hannover Tram와 largest European light rail

production의 디자인 계약을 하게 되는데 이때  계약 금액은 5억 독일마르크였다.

1마르크가 600원이 넘는 금액이므로 한화로 하면 3000억이 넘는 엄청한 금액이다.

첫번째 열차는 1997년 Hannover Industrial Fair에서 처음 대중에게 공개되었며,

IF Transportation Design Prize와 the Ecology award까지 수상하게 된다.

최근 다음과 같은 전시와 설치작업이 있었다.

도쿄의 Yamagiwa Centre에서 Flos를 위한 전시

Axis Gallery에서의 개인전

Paris Design Fair에서  'Designer of the Year 2000' 자격으로 전시

요즘 프로젝트로는 런던의 유명한 Tate Modern의 가구 디자인과

Flos를 위해 디자인한 "Luxmaster"

Magis를 위해 디자인한  Low Air-Table과 Folding Air-Chair

Lars Müller Publishers를 통해 출판한  "Everything but the Walls"전공논문

도쿄에 있는 Roppongi Hills development를 위한 벤치디자인

Vitra를 위한 ATM desk system 설계

주방 가전 제품 브랜드인 Rowenta를 위한 디자인

Alessi를 위한 Pots&Pans 디자인

Ideal Standard를 위한 sanitary- and brassware range 디자인

2005년 Naoto Fukasawa와  Super Normal를 기획한다.

2006년 6월 처음 Super Normal 전시가 도쿄에서 열리게 된다.

Jasper Morrison Ltd 최근 런던과 파리를 기점으로하여 많은 유명한 회사들과 일을 하고 있다.


Alessi Spa, Italy; Alias Srl, Italy; Canon Camera Division, Japan; Cappellini Spa., Italy; Flos Spa, Italy; FSB GmbH, Germany; Magis Srl, Italy; Rosenthal AG, Germany; Rowenta, France; Sony Design Centre Europe; Vitra International AG, Switzerland. In 2004, began consultancies with Samsung Electronics, Korea, Muji (Japan), Ideal Standard (UK) and Olivetti (Italy).
